ESOS

ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme) is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for large organisations in the UK that meet the qualification criteria.

Organisations must carry out audits of their energy use to identify cost-effective energy saving measures.

ESOS Phase 3

The latest update from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) tells us that the government will go ahead with previously announced plans to make the ESOS scheme more robust.

The Phase 3 compliance deadline has been extended to 5 June 2024, to give participants time to meet the scheme’s new requirements. (read more about the new ESOS deadline here).

There are several additional requirements for compliance in Phase 3 of ESOS, including a change to the de minimis exemption and the requirement to provide a more detailed, time-bound plan on implementation of recommended measures. We’ve got more details on our latest ESOS phase 3 guidance.

These pages help you stay briefed on phase 3 with the latest information, news, analysis and answers to your frequently asked questions.
