When is the ESOS Phase 2 deadline?
The deadline for compliance for ESOS Phase 2 is the 5th December 2019. This might seem like a long way off but if you are complying via the Energy Audit route:
- You will need to measure 12 month’s energy consumption data
- You will need to dedicate some staff time to this project – BEIS’ interim evaluation of ESOS Phase 1 found that companies spent an average of 15 days on the process. It makes more business sense to spread that over several months rather than cramming it into a couple of weeks when you may have other business priorities.
- You may choose to engage with an external assessor to assist you and it’s better (and may be cheaper) to get in their diaries sooner rather than later.
